LIFE RIGHT UNITS:

Please note:  

  • A compulsory 16 meals at R61 per meal per person is included in the life right contract.  
  • Current minimum levy of R1,979 per month for 109 square meters and a current maximum levy of R2,760 per month for 152 square meters.  
  • Other monthly payments:  Electricity, rates, admin fees, DSTV (according to owner preference choice) and CSOS (Community Scheme Ombudsman Services)

RENTAL UNITS:
15 x One-bedroom apartments – from ± R9,390 to R10,877 per month 

Apartment rentals include a daily meal (Lunch), weekly cleaning service, 24-hour intercom service, water, and electricity.  

7 x Single Rooms with shared facilities – from R5,243 tot R5,751 per month
Room rentals include lunch and a light supper, weekly cleaning service, 24-hour intercom service, water, and electricity.  

Non-refundable entrance fee of R10,050 is payable to Utilitas when the lease agreement is signed.

FRAIL CARE CENTRE:
6 x Beds (2 wards with 3 beds each) – from R16,070 per month
15 x Single Rooms (furnished, and with a basin) – from R16,070 per month
Please note : Shared bath, shower and toilet facilities. There is also a communal dining room and lovely lounge for entertaining.
Three meals are included in the monthly fee.
A non-refundable entrance fee of R11,640 is payable upon signing of the contract.
Temporary care from R594 per day, non-residents R957 per day.

OTHER USEFUL INFORMATION:

  • De Rust life right units are managed through an elected Management Committee 
  • Only life right options are available: Utilitas is responsible for the resale of the unit. The owner will be reimbursed with the original capital amount plus a 25% profit sharing. The life right agreement is in the resident’s name, even if a relative / other person pays the purchase price. Upon resale / death, the amount is paid into the resident’s bank account / estate.
  • At signing of the contract, a deposit of 10% of the purchase price is payable, and the full purchase price must be paid within 6 weeks, otherwise the deposit will be forfeited.
  • A non-refundable entrance fee of R10,050 is payable with the first month’s levy account.
  • A levy is paid monthly and is calculated according to the size / square meter of the apartment, including municipal services. Property taxes and electricity are charged separately.

Included in levy:

  • 24-hour intercom service
  • 24-hour access control, with a security service after hours / weekends and public holidays
  • Limited on-site parking for guests
  • Preferential admission to the Health Care Unit 

WAITING LISTS:

  • Application forms for persons 55 years and older are accepted
  • Residents are still allowed to work
  • Admission according to need / financial readiness
  • Applicants will be subjected to an interview with a Social Development Officer and subject to the findings of the officer, a decision will be taken as to whether or not the applicant qualifies for accommodation.
